Better Parenting through Study Circles
These are discussion forums which happen on alternate Saturdays. Parents prepare for these sessions by reading up a specific topic from the Montessori books that they have. The session lasts for about an hour after which there are ensuing discussions. Attending these sessions is useful, to gain insights as well as explanations of our guiding principles and positive parenting practices, the Montessori way.
Videos from NAMTA and other Montessori sources are regularly shown to families for deeper understanding of
- Human needs and tendencies,
- Planes of development,
- Psychological characteristics of each stage,
- Challenges in familial relationships.
- Educational philosophies that guide education
- Montessori tenets and practices
- Parent support for the children's work at home and the learning space
The sessions are split by ages of the children besides specific sessions for all parents. There are special sessions for the Montessori guides as well, in order to refresh their theory concepts. Hand-holding the member families through interventional advice is done throughout the year via mail, with the help of experts.
